The general public will now have a reason to once again watch Golf. I may not be a die hard golf watcher, but I do watch as much of the majors as I can, even when Tiger isn't out on the course. And although Rory killed it at the US Open and the story behind Darren Clarke was real touching both tournaments seemed to lack something without the Sunday Red prowling the course on the last days. Well thats's all about to change as Tiger Woods has announced that he will return to golf this upcoming weekend at the World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational at Firestone Country Club. Tiger broke the news to the world via Twitter and the buzz surrounding his return is dominating the sports world. Hopefully he goes out and plays well and many will be watching what he does now that he has fired Stevie Williams and wasn't expected to return for quite some time. All eyes will be on Tiger and hopefully he will start to perform and everyone should watch out because once he gets a win and gets the feel again, he is going to be a serious threat once again.

The Women's World Cup

For the past 3 weeks I noticed something odd in the sports world, The Women's US National team was gaining a lot of attention from people who I never thought would be following women's sports. Now I don't follow the women's game that much but I have been watching since the opening games and was one of the many who was captivated by the US teams magical run to the finals. One which after a group stage lose to Sweden seemed to be a big uphill battle especially with Brazil waiting for them. They did however make the whole country hold out breaths as Abby Wambach stunned the Brazilians in the 122' minute and then snuck by the French on the way to the finals.. As the USA was taking all our breath away we all figured it was a sure victory once Japan knocked the heavily favored Germans out in the quarter-finals. No one however realized that maybe just maybe this Japanese team has fate on their side. Only a few months after the devastating earthquake shocked the country. On the back of their captain Homare Sawa , who mind you almost quit soccer after the earthquake, Japan stayed resilient and battled the US until the final minute and survived the ever stressful Penalty Kicks. Now following the loss everyone was quick to say the US choked, maybe they should look to the fact that most didn't have them even reaching the final especially against a team that got hot at the right time and seemed the have fate along with their country on their side. And most don't realize Japan was the 4th ranked team in the World. So give Japan some credit and congratulate the US women on a amazing run, that with the way Alex Morgan, Megan Rampinoe, Carli Lloyd, Hope Solo and the "beast in the air" Abby Wambach played in this tournament the future is bright for the US in 2015 in Canada and hopefully the support from all those fans who just started following the game continues.

The End of Childhood...

So last night, as many people already are well aware, the final film in the Harry Potter saga was released. Now some will say I'm gay, soft, a little kid, immature and a whole onslaught of names for going to the midnight showing, while there are probably just as many who went and saw it just as I did. All those who hate I could really care less what they think because Harry Potter was one of the last lying connections to childhood I've had. Like most kids I would despise having to read outside of school, until however when I was 10, my 5th grade teacher Mr. Fusco began reading us the Harry Potter stories in class. From their I was hooked on the series. As I've grown up the story of Harry has always been there and last night that connection to my childhood, where my biggest concern was would I be able to get outside after dinner with enough light to play before it got dark, has know come to a end. So it gets thrown on top of the Pokemon cards, N64, hours of manhunt played on the weekend and all the other things that are prominent in a kids youth. The end of Harry Potter has brought to my attention that I really no longer have any of those childhood connections, now its adulthood where I have to worry about paying rent and bills, getting a Masters, finding a good job, taking care of all my student loans and all the other stresses that come with being an adult. So with that I say good bye to Harry potter and I hope one day I can pass on the stories to my kids and hope they find the tales as interesting and their imaginations will run as wild as mine once did. And for all those who hate on me for enjoying and remembering my childhood look back on yours and think of something that touched you and made you mind run the far off places, and if you can't I pity the fact your childhood was so empty.

3 Monster Albums to be Released...

So thanks to twitter and Rolling Stone, major updates on some much anticipated albums has been presented to us.

Thanks to Kanye's twitter we have no learned that "Watch the Throne" the collaborative album between him and Jay-Z will be released within the next 2 months and Kanye himself will be dropping a new solo album this summer. Riding off the success of "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" Kanye's next album should be just as sick.

Rolling Stone brings news that "Tha Carter IV" the upcoming and highly anticipated album from Lil Wayne will be released in April, but could even be pushed up to March if things go the right way.

3 awesome albums are on their way and I can't wait to see what is to come.

NFL Playoff Predictions

Saints over Seahawks: No brainer here Seahawks are the first team to make playoffs with a losing record, Saints are defending champs.

Colts over Jets: Jets have been playing solid football and two weeks ago the Colts were dead, except people forgot they still had Peyton. And hes at home.

Ravens over Chiefs: Chiefs are the feel good story this post-season, who saw them coming right? Doesn't matter Ravens defense is too good even in KC.

Eagles over Packers: Mike Vick experience continues for one more week, however going to be a lot closer than most think. The Pack will give him problems but it's in Philly and they pull it off.

Divisional
Steelers over Ravens: 3rd match-up of the season between the two. Steelers were my mid-season pick and I'm sticking with them plus it's at Hinze Field.

Falcons over Saints: The Saints beat the falcons in Atlanta two weeks ago, Falcons only home loss, doesn't matter this is the playoffs and the dome is going to be rockin. Falcons win close.

Bears over Eagles: The mayor of Philly can't call this one due to harsh conditions and thats what Solider field is know for. Surprising the Bears are here and they will surprise more with the win.

Patriots over Colts: Hottest team in football playing in front of the hometown fans, double digit win for the Pats. They get to Peyton once again.

Falcons over Bears: Falcons pull at another one as Cutler goes back to his old ways and pick's his way out in the dome as the Falcons fly to the Super Bowl.

Steelers over Patriots: Yeah call me crazy, we know the Pats are going to runaway with it. Can't sleep on the Steelers they are solid all around and will avenge their mid-season loss to the Pats and head to the Super Bowl.

Rematch of the week 1 OT battle where the Steelers snuck out with a W. And in the mid-season I picked these two to meet with the Steelers going to win. So of course I'm going back on that thought and picking the Falcons to come up with the big Win and their first Super Bowl and resurrect the franchise Mike Vick destroyed just a few years ago.

The Year In Review

With it being New Years Eve and everything and considering I did it last year as I was just begging my blogging days, I figure a year in review is necessary. 2010 has been a roller coaster year with its awesome highs, and its incredible lows. That however tends to be how most years go for everyone. Everybody has to face adversity. I've burned a few bridges and in the process rebuilt some that I had thought were previously burned. I realize now that although I may have lost touch with a lot of people from high school, some of which 3 years ago I couldn't imagine not being in my life now, the ones I still am in touch with are truly the ones that matter. Along with my family it was my friends who are always there when I needed them. It does sadden me to look back at some of the people I'm no longer in touch with but thats just how life goes. To quote Ralph Waldo Emerson "A man's growth is seen in the successive choirs of his friends." Now I have been blessed to recover some friends who I lost touch with or had a falling out with, and I have also acquired some new friends who I hope will still be in the picture next time when I write this blog. This past year I was able to take part in one of the most important events of my life. This summer I was blessed with the opportunity to live and study in Italy for a month. In this month I feel that I grew up in ways I never though I could. I was a foreign student living in country where I barely knew the language and I manged to adjust and adapt to the culture and work my way around for a month. I also had the chance to visit my grandfather's hometown. This event was truly the most humbling experience of my life, and it really put things into perspective for me. Life is too short and you really need to be appreciative of what you have. To see the simple and small beginnings my grandfather came from and what he has become and the life he gave for my father and the life in which I was given, really made me grateful and humbled. As I look back at where I was in this point in my life last year I think I have grown up a lot, and it's not coming a second too late as I'm only one semester away from receiving my college diploma. I've still done stupid things and look back wondering what the hell was wrong with me, but hey I'm still a kid. Now I still have plenty of growing up to do, we ALL do, but hopefully with the help of my friends and my family I will continue to grow and develop into a fine adult and one day (not anytime soon don't worry mom) a fine husband and father. Yeah I know that seems so far away, but I witnessed one of my good friends get married this past year and have heard others talking about it and I would be Naïve to think it isn't part of growing up. With that said I would like to wish all of you who read this and check the blog, as well as my family and all my friends (current and lost) a healthy, successful and safe New Year. And that all those previously mentioned flourish in the next year and have the greatest year of their lives. So about a week ago I started to build my bucket list (If You Missed It). Obviously it wasn't flawless and there were thing missing so as time goes on and I think of more I'm going to continue to update it. Here are two more to chalk up for the list.

-See Stonehenge
....One of man's greatest mysteries is Stonehenge. There are so many questions behind it. I think it would be absolutely amazing to see.

-Ice skate in Rockefeller Center
....Today I went to the city with my family, my brother and little sister who were already in the city waited four hours and were able to skate at Rockefeller Center under the tree. Now I'm in no rush to wait four hours to ice skate but it's something I would love to do once (and only once).

The fifth will feature everybody from the past films minus most of the Tokyo Drift crew, but don't worry they replaced them with The Rock so it doesn't seem as though it will disappoint. From the trailer it looks like a middle-ages version of Pineapple Express, minus the drug aspect. Danny McBride is one of the new comedic stars of our time and the last time he and Franco got together they were pretty good together. Definitely worth a see when it comes out.

Life After College?

In talking to my mom yesterday, she brought to my attention that technically I am a College Graduate. Since I only need 3 credits to graduate, I could have walked in December and went on into the real world as a adult??? It's really mind-blowing to think about, I mean I still remember getting ready to leave for Seton Hall 3 years ago... Now that finals are done and I have sometime to myself again and thanks to inspiration from a friend of mine who has a blog in which she lists the things she would like to do before she dies, Her Bucket List, tying into the fact that School is drawing to a end and the real world is coming, I'd like to create one of my own for me to hopefully complete one day. It's something I think most people have, even if they don't realize it, and something they should all strive to achieve.

The Bucket List:
-Visit Pompeii
....A ancient Roman city which is frozen in time. To visit this site would truly be a mind-blowing experience, being a History Major to see the city which was wiped out by Vesuvius in a matter of minutes and see all the artifacts from the time that were frozen by the dust and ash from the volcano is something I've wanted to see since I first started studying history as a little kid.

-Go to Greece
....The Greek Isles, The Parthenon, Greek Mythology, The Battle of Thermopylae. Just some of the amazing things that came from Ancient Greece. After Italy, Greece is the one country I would most like to visit, most of which too comes from my interest in History and what better to see than Greece and all the History it holds.

-Walk the Great Wall of China
....The only man made object to ever be seen from space, The Great Wall of China, is something I would love to see and walk in my life. To walk across the Wall is Walking on thousands of years of History and something I would love to do before I die.

-Visit the Pyramids
....Is there really any explaining to do here?? Probably the greatest monument ever created, the Pyramids are the only ancient wonder of the world to still be around today. Something that I must see before I go, seeing the Colosseum in Rome was breath taking, even the second time it was still overwhelming to see, and I can't even image how it would feel to see the Pyramids.

-Go to the World Cup
....In 1994 the World Cup came to the US, my dad and my grandfather both went to World Cup games. I was only 5 and they didn't think I had to go, yeah thanks a lot (I'm still bitter). Now I don't know when it's coming back to the states, and that's really not going to stop me. Being in Italy this past summer I experienced the World Cup in a foreign country for the first time and it honestly blows it away here in the states. I will not be stopped in my pursuit to see a game whether its here in the States or wherever I have to go (look out Brazil in 2014.)

-Work in Italy
....Anyone who knows me understands how much I love Italy and the Italian culture. I lived in Italy for a month this past summer and since stepping off that plane upon my return Ive been dying to get back. To work and live in Italy would simply be a dream.

-Climb the Eiffel Town
....I'm big on monuments, and the most significant one France has is definitely on my to see list. I would love to look down from the top onto Paris.

-See a Mass in which the Pope holds
....Been to Italy twice, both times the Pope was either on vacation or I wasn't in Rome when he was presiding over mass. Hopefully this goal can go hand and hand with the one which is two above. Can there be any better mass to attend than one the Pope presides over??

-Go to the Super Bowl
....The premier sports event in American Sports. Something a avid sports fan has to attend at least once in his life right?

-Ride a Double Decker bus in London
....Just something I think would be cool to do.

-Sit Front Row at a Concert
....Most everyone has been to or will have gone to some concert in their lives. Now it may be expensive but image how amazing a concert would be from the front row, being just inches away from your favorite artist as they preform your favorite song.. Something I would love to experience.

-Take my Wife on a Gondola Ride
....There are many underlying factors to this one... Will I get married? Will My Wife be scared of the Gondola? Will I get back to Italy? If all those factors come together, is there anything you can do to get anymore Brownie points with your wife then taking here for a romantic Gondola ride through Venice? Come on you need all the help you can get with women sometimes...

-Visit the Land of My Grandfathers...with my Grandfather...
....This past summer I had the most humbling experience of my life. I walked through my grandfathers hometown in Italy and saw the simple and humble beginning my grandfather came from. To see what he came from and what he has become today and the live he laid and for my father and in turn for me, was overwhelming and the most humbling thing I could have experienced. I would love to be able to walk those lands again, this time with my grandfather next to me...

This is just a beginning of a list that I'm sure will grow and I hope you become inspired just like I was to create one of these and set goals for yourself to achieve in your life...

El Clasico?

Barcelona and Real Madrid went into "El Clasico" in second and first place respectively, so a classic battle was more than expected. Well expectations failed. Barcalona absolutely dominated Real in all aspects of the match. And to say dominated can be considered a bit of a understatement. With the embarrassing 5-0 scoreline aside, and its quiet easily could have been more with some of the blown chances Barca had a 8-0 final was seriously possible, Barca controlled the game from the start. Barca finished with 16 shots (6 on goal) to Real's 5 shot (2 on goal), they also held a huge lead in the possession category with Barca at 67% and real at a lowly 33%. The dominance started to get under the skin of the Real player's starting with Ronaldos shove of the Barca manager and ending with Sergio Ramos getting a straight Red in the 90th minute. The way the Real players played at the end of the match was a little more than barbaric as the fouls were reckless and out of pure frustration at the end. Barcalona showed that they are to strongly be considered the best team in the world.

Mr.Hudson puts out some solid tracks, but doesn't really get much recognition, other than that he's the guy from Jay-Z's "Young Forever" song. Mr. Hudson is a solid R&B artist and is a member of Kanye's G.O.O.D Music label. Looking forward to hearing more from him.

Votto had a monster year leading the league in on-base percentage, leading the NL in slugging, finishing second in NL with a .324 average and finished 3rd in both HR's and RBI's. Votto was the landslide winner of the award as he took in 31 of 32 possible first place votes. Votto also took down "The Machine" Albert Pujols in the running for MVP. Big up for a great season which was capped with the MVP.

New Adam Sandler film "Just Go With It" set for a early February release. Adam Sandler is arguably the comedic stable of our generation and even his crappy movies are funny. You can expect nothing less from this movie, Sandler always delivers the laughs. Although I don't think anything has ever lived up to Billy Madison or Happy Gilmore, his film still are funnier than most. Definitely worth a see when it comes out.

In March, EA will release the next installment of the Fight Night Series, with "Fight Night:Champion." From the trailer you can see some real solid graphic in this game. The beads of sweat as you hit a guy really stick out, truly great graphics. Also I like the storyline approach where you can guide your fighter to the championship. Christiano Ronaldo, even people who don't follow soccer know the name. Last night in a 5-1 victory Ronaldo picked up a goal in the 74th minute. It was a nice finish from Ronaldo but the real play is the assist Angel Di Maria picks up in the play. It was a absolutely stunning cross that left Ronaldo with a simple tap in for the goal. The way this ball curves is unbelievable and the accuracy makes it almost video game like. Great play from Di Maria.

This is literally the coolest video I've seen since OK GO and the treadmills. Big shout out to these guys as it supposedly took over 2,000 hours to complete, thats almost 84 DAYS of work. Simply insane, but a well done video either way. I never really heard of this band but the song isn't too bad either hopefully they can get some huge success off this just as OK GO did. I don't know which one I like better but this definitely one of the best I've seen.

NFL Mid-Season Report

So with half the NFL season in the books, a few thoughts come to mind on what's happened so far.

Biggest Surprise
NFC- Dallas/Tampa Bay
Tie here for this one, simply because they are both huge surprises. Dallas was the odds on favorite to win not only the NFC but the Super Bowl as well, and mid-way through the the season they are 1-6. Safe to say we won't be seeing them playing in their home stadium for the Super Bowl. Expect Jerry Jones to make some wholesale changes in the off-season (cough* Wade Phillips *cough.) The other big surprise is the self proclaimed "Best Team in the NFC" Tampa Bay Bucs. The Bucs are tied for first in the NFC South, and no not with the Saints, and are solidly just doing what they need to, to win. Not saying they are Super Bowl contenders but coming off a 3-13 season which they started 0-7, its safe to say a 5-2 start wasn't expected.

AFC- San Diego/Kansas City
Another tie here, same reason as previously mentioned. The Chargers were a hot pick to be serious Super Bowl contenders (yes I know they have been for like the last 5 years and done nothing) but it's still a surprise to see a team 1st in overall offense AND defense 2-5 and looking up at the Raiders, yes the Raiders, and the Chiefs in the AFC West. Like Dallas expect some changes in the off-season if this team doesn't live up to its potential. And speaking of the Chiefs, I think its time to give this surprise team some credit, they were the last team to finish undefeated and are sitting in first in the AFC West and have the #1 rushing game in the league. they are a team which can't be slept on much longer.

Super Bound:
Mid way through the season the only thing you can really say with some confidence is, the Super Bowl winner is most likely going to come out of the AFC. The AFC is just loaded with talented teams,any of which can make the Super Bowl, teams like the Steelers, Ravens, Pats, Colts, Jets and Titans all look real solid this season and its tough the say who's going to come out on top. In the NFC no one really jumps off the page and has been overly dominant. The 2 front runners you can say would be the Giants ad the Falcons, neither of which however has really runaway with the title "Best in the NFC." However you have teams like the Packers and Saints lurking in the background. So with all this unpredictability I'm giving my Super picks for the Super Bowl. Going with the gut here, I think the Steelers will come out on top in the AFC and in the NFC watch out for the Falcons to make a run and come out on top in the NFC. These two met earlier in the season with the Steelers coming out victorious, and this time around, expect some more of the same. Steelers Super Bowl Champions 2010.

So who says you gotta run away with you division to make serious noise in the playoffs? Obviously not the San Fransisco Giants, the Giants waited until the last day of the season to clinch their division. They then went through the playoffs, beating teams they weren't supposed to beat, on the way to the NL Pennant and World Series title. They were coming up against a Rangers squad who had the immortal Cliff Lee, who simply put doesn't lose in the playoffs. Many people, including yours truly, had the Rangers pegged for the title, especially after they simply undressed the New York Yankees. The Giants took that fact, and decided to turn it on its head and light up Cliff Lee in the opener, and never really look back, including another win at the hands of Lee in the clinching Game 5. The Giants took all doubt and turned it into a World Series Ring, hats off to all the Giants

The follow up to the black-buster that was The Dark Knight, finally has a title. Christopher Nolan has stated that the upcoming Batman 3 will be known as "the Dark Knight Rises." Not sure of the title, seems kinda bland, but definitely hyped to see where this one goes, no word on who the main villain will be, although Nolan has said it won't be The Riddler. Regardless of who it will be, this move should be awesome and I can't wait to see what Nolan has up his sleeve.

Last night was the nail in the coffin. As a long-time cowboys fan, it was hard to watch the downward spiral that over took the Cowboys in the middle of the second quarter. Tony Romo breaking his collarbone was the straw that broke the camel's back last night. After Romo went down it was as though the Cowboys were a CFL team for around a quarter until they woke up and decided to make the game close, and almost pull off 2 onside kicks late. This however does nothing to boost my moral for the rest of the season, if Romo is out for 8 weeks what Dallas team can we expect to see? That I can not answer. But what I can answer is this, if Dallas doesn't make the Super Bowl in their Colosseum of a stadium, and let's be honest they wont, then Jerry Jones will be quick to make some wholesale changes...This means you Wade Phillips.

I called the Giants-Rangers World Series! Well if you know anyone claiming this, they are undoubtedly lying. I am one of the many people who would have bet the house that the Yanks and Phillies would be playing each other, and if by some chance one was upset, then the other would definitely have made it anyways. Well I was greatly mistaken. Both the Giants and Rangers absolutely outplayed their opponents in their respective LCS. The Rangers should have swept the Yankees had they not melted down in game 1. The Giants fought and scratched and let nothing, including Roy Halladay(who was coming off throwing the first post-season no hitter in 50 years), stop them from there World Series dream. This is why this series has the makings to be one of the great ones, because it could truely go either way. Can Cliff Lee remain perfect in the post-season? Will the Giants take down Lee like they did Halladay? Can the bats stay hot for both teams? So many questions make for a extremely entertaining series. As I said earlier if the Rangers beat the Yankees (See Here) I would be pulling for them, and the way they played in that series I'm going to make my prediction that they win the Series in 6 games, with cliff Lee grabbing MVP honors. That said don't sleep on the Giants because this truely is anyones Series.
